Smart Links

A smart link is a single page for one release. It sits at a short address on your own website, shows your cover art and your title, and gives every fan a button for the service they already use. Put that one address in your bio, in an ad, or on a poster, and nobody has to guess whether you meant Spotify or Apple Music.

The best part is what you get back. Because every fan picks a service on your page, you end up knowing where your audience actually listens. After two or three releases that is the most useful number you have when you plan the next one.

Where smart links live

Go to My Website then Smart Links in your dashboard. Everything in this section happens from there.

Each link gets its own address ending in /l/ and the short name you choose, so a release you call summer-nights opens at /l/summer-nights on your own domain. It is your website serving the page, not a third party, which means it carries your domain and your branding.

What is on a smart link page

Every link page gives a fan:

• Your cover art, large, with a play button on it when you have added a 30-second preview.
• Your title and artist name, styled to match whichever layout you picked.
• A button per streaming service, each carrying that service's real logo so it is recognised at a glance.
• Anything else you choose to add, like a newsletter signup, a pre-order button, or a donation button.
• A quiet footer with a privacy link and a way to change cookie settings.

What you control

• The layout. Five different page compositions, picked per link, so two releases do not have to look like the same page. See Page layouts.
• The colours. Leave them alone and the page follows your website's theme. Override them for one release when the artwork calls for it. See Theming your link page.
• The order of the services. Put the ones your audience actually uses at the top.
• The calls to action. Add a signup form, a product, or a donation button under the streaming buttons. See Page actions.
• The measurement. A pixel for this one release, so a single campaign reports on its own. See Tracking and pixels.

The fastest way to make one

Ask your connected AI assistant for a smart link and give it the release's Spotify address. It looks the release up, finds the address on every other service, pulls the cover art and a 30-second preview, and writes the page for you. See Connect to your own AI if you have not set that up.
