Legacy smart links
The older drag-and-drop link pages are still yours to edit, archive and measure. Here is what still works and what to do with them.
Before the current smart links, TribeNest had a different kind of link page: a full drag-and-drop builder where you designed the page block by block, starting from a template.
Those links still exist and still belong to you. You can open them, edit them, copy their addresses, archive them, and look at their numbers. What you cannot do any more is make a new one, and the template gallery they were built from is gone.
Everything new goes through Smart Links, which is faster to set up, looks after its own layout and colours, and tells you which streaming service each fan picked.
Finding them
Go to My Website then Smart links (legacy) in your dashboard. The sidebar labels them clearly so there is never a question of which screen you are on.
Check whether yours are still being served
If your active website is a custom code website, a note at the top of the screen tells you these pages are not being served. They stay fully editable, and their addresses simply do not open for fans. Rebuild anything you still need as a smart link or as a page on your site.
Your legacy library
Legacy links show as cards with a thumbnail of the page, the title, the address, and how long ago it was last changed. Archived links carry an Archived badge.
To search, type in the box above the grid. To switch between live and archived links, click Filters, choose Active Smart Links or Archived Smart Links, then Apply Filters. Clear Filters and Clear all put you back to everything.
On each card:
- Edit opens the page builder.
- The copy icon copies the full address to your clipboard.
- The three dot menu holds View Analytics and Archive. On an archived link that becomes Unarchive.
Editing a legacy page
Click Edit and you get the builder, with your page in the middle and a row of controls along the top.
- Back, on the far left, returns you to the library.
- Update Styles opens the styling panel, where you set the page colours, corner radius, font, logo, and the header and social links some templates show.
- Tracking and pixels, covered below.
- Undo and Redo step through your recent changes. Both stay greyed out until there is something to step through.
- Desktop, Tablet and Mobile change the size of the preview. Almost everyone who opens a link is on a phone, so check the mobile view.
- Save, on the far right, writes your changes.
Below the toolbar is the page itself. Click any block to select it and change its text, styling, or destination. Blocks can be dragged into a new order, duplicated, or removed.
Nothing saves on its own
The builder does not auto-save. If you leave without clicking Save, your changes are gone. When in doubt, save.
Once saved, the live page updates immediately.
Tracking on a legacy link
The tracking dialog lives in the builder toolbar and takes two things:
- Facebook Pixel ID, from your ad platform's events dashboard.
- Conversions API Access Token, the secret credential that lets results be reported server-side.
Fill both in and click Save. To stop tracking on that link, open the dialog again and click Remove Pixel.
Your token is never shown back to you once saved. If you only want to change the pixel ID, you still have to paste the token again.
Numbers on a legacy link
Open the three dot menu on a card and choose View Analytics. You get:
- A date range picker at the top right, and everything recalculates when you change it.
- Total Views, Total Clicks, and Click-through Rate.
- A Performance Overview comparing views against clicks.
- Top Countries and Top Cities, each with views and clicks.
If there was no activity in the range you picked, the page says so instead of showing empty charts.
These are different numbers from the new ones
Legacy analytics lean on where your visitors were. Current smart links tell you which streaming service each fan chose instead, which is the more actionable answer for a release. See Smart link analytics.
Archiving and restoring
Open the three dot menu and click Archive. The page stops serving and the card moves out of your default view. Use the Filters dialog to see archived links, and Unarchive from the same menu to bring one back.
Addresses are shared between old and new
A legacy link and a current smart link cannot use the same address. If you try to give a new smart link an address that a legacy link already holds, the save is refused.
If you want to reuse a good address on a new page, archive the legacy link first, then create the new one.
Moving a page across
There is no automatic conversion, and for most links there is nothing to convert: a release page rebuilt as a current smart link takes a couple of minutes and comes out better.
- Note the old link's address and what it pointed at.
- Archive the old link.
- Create a new smart link with the same address.
- Add anything the old page did beyond streaming buttons as a page action.
Because you keep the address, everything already pointing at the old page keeps working.
If a legacy page did something a release page cannot, like a full tour listing or a press kit, that content belongs on your website rather than on a link page. See My Website.
