Creating a Collection
Group related posts together into themed collections for your members.
Collections let you organize related posts into themed groups. Think of them like albums, playlists, or series -- they make it easy for your members to browse and enjoy content that belongs together.
How to Create a Collection
- Go to My Tribe in your dashboard sidebar.
- Click Collections.
- Click the Create Collection button.
- Fill in the collection details (explained below).
- Optionally, add items directly to the collection.
- Click Create Collection to save.
Collection Details
Title
Give your collection a clear, descriptive name. This is what your members will see when browsing. It must be between 1 and 200 characters.
Good examples: "Studio Sessions Vol. 1," "Behind the Album," "Fan Q&A Archive," "Acoustic Covers."
Description
Use the rich text editor to write a description for your collection. You can format text, add emphasis, and create structured content. This is a great place to set the scene or explain what the collection contains.
The description is optional, but a good one helps members understand what they'll find inside.
Cover Image
Upload a cover image that represents the collection visually. This image appears as the collection's thumbnail when your members browse collections. A square image works best for this.
Membership Access
Just like posts, you can restrict collections to specific membership tiers.
- Leave blank to make the collection public and visible to everyone
- Select one or more tiers to make it exclusive to those members
See Restricting Access for strategies on using access control effectively.
Adding Items to a Collection
You can add items (posts) directly when creating a collection. Each item needs:
- A type (Image, Video, or Audio)
- A caption
- A media file
Adding Items
- Click the Add Collection Item button.
- Select the item type.
- Write a caption.
- Upload the media file.
- Repeat for as many items as you want to add.
Reordering Items
Items can be reordered by dragging the grip handle on the left side of each item card. Drag items up or down to change the order your members will see them in.
Removing Items
Click the X button on any item card to remove it before creating the collection.
Tip
You don't have to add all items when creating the collection. You can always add more items later by editing the collection. You can also add existing posts to a collection from the Posts page.
After Creating a Collection
Your collection will appear on the Collections page. Members with the right tier access can browse the collection and view its items. You can continue to add, remove, and reorder items at any time by editing the collection.
