Website templates
Start from a ready-made design instead of a blank page. Browse the gallery, look at each one as a real live site, and turn the one you like into a new version of your own in a few seconds.
You do not have to describe your whole site from scratch. TribeNest keeps a gallery of ready-made website designs, each one a complete site you can look at before you commit. Pick one, and it becomes a new version of your website that is yours to edit.
It is the fastest way to get something real on screen. Nothing is generated, so there is no waiting and no AI credits spent. You get the pages straight away and start changing the words and pictures.
Where to find the gallery
Go to My Website then Templates.
You will also see a way in at the moments where it is useful:
- On My Website then Home, when you have no versions yet, there is a Start from a template button.
- In the menu button (three dots) at the top right of My Website then Home, there is New version from a template.
- In the New website version dialog, there is a Start from a template instead link.
They all open the same gallery.
Browsing what is on offer
The gallery is a grid of cards. Above it are two ways to narrow it down:
- The Search templates box, for when you know roughly what you are after.
- The category buttons beside it. All is selected to begin with, and clicking a category shows only the templates in it.
Each card shows:
- A picture of the template, or "No preview" if it does not have one yet.
- Its name.
- Its category, as a small badge.
- A short description of what it is for.
- A Preview button and a Use this template button.
Looking at one properly
Click Preview on a card and the template opens in a new tab as a real, live website. Not a picture of one. Click around it, open its store, scroll it on your phone, and see how it actually behaves before you decide.
The words are not yours yet
A template is filled with a demo business's copy and photos so it looks like a real site. When you start from one, replacing those words and images with your own is the first thing to do.
Starting from a template
- Click Use this template on the card you want.
- A dialog opens, titled New website from the template's name. It tells you plainly that this adds a new website version, and that your live site does not change until you publish it.
- Check the Name. It is filled in with the template's name, and you can change it to something that means more to you, like "Spring relaunch".
- If you have more than one website, pick which Website the new version should belong to. With only one, there is nothing to choose and the field does not appear.
- Click Create website.
A moment later the new version opens in the editor, ready to work on.
What you get, and what it leaves alone
Starting from a template creates a new version of your website. It contains:
- Today's built-in pages: your store, checkout, and the account area, current as of right now rather than whenever the template was made.
- The template's own pages, sections and styling, laid over the top.
Just as importantly:
- Your live site does not change. It carries on exactly as it is until you publish the new version yourself.
- Your other versions are untouched. The new one sits alongside them on My Website then Home.
- Your products, events, members, orders and media are untouched. A template is a design, not your business.
The version is yours from that moment
Once a version is created from a template, it stops being connected to it. Editing it is completely safe, and if the template is improved later, nothing about your site changes. You are not locked into anything.
Making it yours
The template gives you the shape. The next step is making it about you.
- Open the version from My Website then Home and click Edit website version.
- Use Content mode to swap the demo headlines, paragraphs and pictures for your own. Those changes go live instantly once published.
- Use AI mode for anything bigger: a new section, a different layout, your own colours. Just describe it.
- Click Preview to see the whole thing running, then Publish when it looks right.
There is much more on both modes in Building your website, and on going live in Publishing your website.
Can I put a template over the site I already have?
From the gallery, no, and on purpose. Use this template always makes a new version, so there is never a moment where your existing work is at risk.
If what you want really is your current site redesigned onto a template, ask Mira in chat. She will tell you exactly what it replaces (your pages, sections and styling), ask you to confirm before she touches anything, and save a restore point first so you can put it straight back. See Chatting with Mira.
A redesign replaces your pages
Laying a template over an existing site replaces the pages, sections and styling you already had. Your words do not carry themselves across, because the template's sections are its own. If your current site has copy you care about, save it somewhere first.
If nothing looks right
You do not have to use one. Describing the site you want and having it built is still there, and it is what gives you something nobody else has. See Building your website.
Plenty of people do both: start from the template that is closest, then ask the AI builder to reshape it until it is yours.
