Adding Modules
How to add modules to organize your course content into sections.
Modules are the building blocks of your course structure. Think of them as chapters in a book -- they group related lessons together and give your students a clear roadmap through your content.
How to add a module
- Go to Courses in your dashboard sidebar.
- Open the course you want to add a module to.
- Click the Create Module button.
- Fill in the module details:
- Title -- Give the module a clear name, like "Getting Started," "Core Techniques," or "Advanced Concepts."
- Description (optional) -- Add a brief summary of what this module covers. This helps students know what to expect.
- Click Create.
Your new module will appear in the course's module list.
Organizing your modules
Modules are displayed in the order you create them. You can rearrange them to control the flow of your course.
A well-organized course might look something like this:
- Module 1: Introduction and Setup
- Module 2: Fundamentals
- Module 3: Intermediate Techniques
- Module 4: Advanced Skills
- Module 5: Final Project
Editing a module
- Open your course from the Courses list.
- Find the module you want to change.
- Click the edit option on the module.
- Update the title or description.
- Click Update to save.
Keep your module titles short and descriptive. Students should be able to glance at the module list and understand the overall course journey.
Tips for structuring modules
- Start simple, build complexity. Put beginner content in the first modules and work toward advanced material.
- Keep modules focused. Each module should cover one topic or theme. If a module is getting too long, split it into two.
- Use consistent naming. Numbering your modules (Module 1, Module 2, etc.) or using a clear naming pattern helps students stay oriented.
- Plan before you build. Sketch out your module structure before adding lessons. It is easier to rearrange at this stage than after you have added all your content.
