Connecting Accounts

Link your social platforms so TribeNest can publish, listen, and respond on your behalf.

Before you can publish, schedule, reply to DMs, or build automations, you have to connect at least one social account. Connections are managed on the Connected Accounts page under Social.

Supported platforms

You can connect:

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • Facebook
  • X / Twitter
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn
  • Pinterest
  • Threads
  • Bluesky
  • Reddit
  • Snapchat
  • Google Business
  • Telegram
  • Discord

You can connect one account per platform. If you need to switch to a different handle on the same platform, disconnect the old one first.

Connect an account

  1. Go to Social then Connected Accounts.
  2. Click Connect Account in the top right.
  3. Pick the platform you want to add. A pop-up window opens to that platform's sign-in flow.
  4. Sign in with the account you want to link, and approve the permissions.
  5. The pop-up closes itself and the new account appears on the page with a green Connected badge.

Make sure pop-ups are allowed

The connection flow opens in a small pop-up window. If your browser blocks it, allow pop-ups for TribeNest and try again.

If the platform rejects the connection — wrong account type, missing permission, expired session on their end — you will see an error toast at the bottom of the screen. Most issues are fixed by trying again and double-checking which account you signed in with.

What you see on the page

Each connected account shows up as a card with:

  • The platform name and icon (Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
  • The account avatar and handle TribeNest is connected to.
  • A status badge — usually Active.
  • A small Import past posts button (the cloud-with-arrow icon).
  • A Disconnect button (the broken-link icon).

Import past posts

If you connected an account that already has posts on the platform, you can pull recent ones into TribeNest so they show up in your post list and feed your analytics.

  1. Find the account on the Connected Accounts page.
  2. Click the Import past posts icon on the card.
  3. TribeNest pulls in recent posts and tells you how many came through.

Only recent history

Some platforms only let us see posts published after the moment you connected the account. If the import returns nothing, that is normal — anything you publish from here on will be tracked.

Reconnecting an expired account

Platforms sometimes expire the connection — you change your password, revoke access from inside the platform, or the platform forces a re-auth.

When that happens, the account's status turns from Active to something like Expired or Disconnected. To fix it:

  1. Go to Social then Connected Accounts.
  2. Find the affected account.
  3. Click Connect Account, pick the same platform, and sign in again with the same handle.
  4. The existing card flips back to Active and your scheduled posts, automations, and inbox conversations resume.

Disconnect an account

  1. On the Connected Accounts page, find the account you want to remove.
  2. Click the Disconnect icon on the card.
  3. Confirm in the pop-up.

Disconnecting is destructive

Disconnecting an account removes every post tied to it from TribeNest — drafts, scheduled posts, and the publish history we track. Posts that were already published stay live on the platform itself; you would have to delete those from the platform directly.

Active automations on that account also stop running.
