Content Calendar
See a whole month of your social posts at a glance, and start a new one just by clicking the day you want it out.
The Content Calendar lays every draft, scheduled post, and published post onto a month or week grid, so you can see the shape of your posting instead of scrolling a list. It is also the fastest way to start a post: click the day you want it to go out and the composer opens already pointed at that date.
Find it under Social Media then Calendar in the sidebar.
Moving around
At the top of the grid:
- The arrows on either side of the heading step back and forward. In month view they move a month at a time, in week view a week at a time.
- The heading tells you where you are. In month view it reads as the month and year (for example,
June 2026). In week view it shows the span, likeJun 1 to Jun 7, 2026. - Month and Week buttons on the right switch between the two views. Month gives you the overview, week gives you more room per day.
Weeks run Monday to Sunday. Today's date is circled so you never lose your place, and in month view the spill-over days from the neighboring months are dimmed.
Reading the grid
Every post sits on a single day:
- Scheduled posts appear on the day they are set to go out.
- Published posts appear on the day they went out.
- Drafts with no date yet appear on the day you created them, so they do not disappear on you.
Each day shows up to three post tiles. Every tile is colored by status, and a legend above the grid spells the colors out:
| Color | Status | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Gray | Draft | Saved, but not scheduled and not published |
| Blue | Scheduled | Waiting for its moment |
| Green | Published | Already out on the platforms |
| Red | Failed | Something went wrong on at least one platform |
The tile itself shows the start of the caption. Hover it to read the whole caption in a tooltip. If a day holds more than three posts, a +N more badge appears at the bottom of that day. Open the post list to work through the rest.
A post with no caption still shows up
If a post is images only, its tile reads (No content). It is still there, still counted, and still clickable.
Open an existing post
Click any post tile and you land on that post's detail page, where you can see its per-platform status, its caption and media, and duplicate or edit it.
Clicking a tile does not start a new post, so you can browse the calendar freely without accidentally opening the composer.
Schedule a post by clicking a day
- Find the day you want the post to go out on.
- Click anywhere in that day's empty space (not on an existing tile).
- The composer opens with the schedule already set to 9:00 AM on that day.
- Adjust the time and timezone if 9:00 AM is not what you want, pick your channels, write the post, and click Schedule.
This is the quickest way to fill a gap you spotted on the grid.
Past days are locked
You cannot click a day that has already been. Hovering one shows Cannot schedule a post in the past, and nothing opens. If you want a post out right now, use Publish Now in the composer instead of trying to backdate it.
Start from scratch
The Create Post button in the top right opens the composer with no date attached, exactly as it does from the post list. Use it when you know what you want to say but not yet when it should go out.
Planning your week
The calendar pairs nicely with two other pages:
- Best time to post on the Analytics page tells you which days and hours have historically earned you the most engagement. Note your strongest slots, then come back here and click those days.
- The gray tiles are your backlog. If you sit down once a week and turn drafts into scheduled posts, the calendar turns blue and your week is done.
Who on your team can see this
The calendar sits inside the Social Media area, so anyone with social access can open it. You can give a team member social access on its own, without opening up your store, your finances, or anything else. See Permissions for how to set that up.
Where to go next
