Year-end
One page that turns a whole year of trading into the handful of numbers your accountant asks for, with a download to send them.
At some point every year, somebody asks you what you earned. The Year-end page is the answer, already assembled: a full year of profit and loss, the tax you collected and where, what was paid out to you, and a month-by-month breakdown, in your main currency.

Picking a year
A year selector sits in the page header, defaulting to the current year and going back as far as 2020. Everything on the page redraws for the year you pick.
If a year had no trading at all, the page says so and invites you to pick another one rather than showing you a screen of zeros.
The year in six numbers
The same six cards you know from the overview, covering the whole calendar year:
- Gross charges
- Refunds
- Processor fees
- Expenses
- Tax collected, captioned as held for remittance rather than income
- Net profit
If any transactions in the year could not be converted into your main currency, a notice appears listing them by currency. Read it: a year that shows a clean profit while quietly excluding a pile of foreign-currency trading is not a year you want to file.
Tax collected by jurisdiction
Every place you collected tax in that year, with the amount and how many transactions it came from. This is the remittance list: what you owe, and to whom.
If you collected nothing, the card says so.
Payout totals
What actually left the platform and reached a bank account, grouped by the payment account it went to, its currency and its status, with the total and the number of payouts.
Where you pay artists or collaborators through their own connected accounts, this is the basis for the annual tax documents they will need from you.
Monthly breakdown
The last card is the year as a table, one row per month, with columns for Gross, Refunds, Fees, Expenses, Tax and Net.
It is the fastest way to answer the questions that come up in a review: which months carried the year, whether costs crept up, and whether a strong month was strong all the way down to net or only at the top.
Downloading it
Click Download CSV in the page header. You get a single file containing everything on the page:
- The profit and loss walk, line by line
- The month-by-month table
- Tax by jurisdiction
- Anything that could not be converted, listed by currency
- Payout totals
- Expenses by category
It opens in any spreadsheet, which means you can email it to an accountant without them needing a TribeNest login.
Two different files, two different jobs
The year-end download is a summary: totals, grouped and readable. If your accountant wants the underlying entries instead, use Export the ledger at the bottom of the transactions ledger, which produces the full line-by-line record.
Making filing season painless
The work that makes this page useful happens during the year, not at the end of it.
- Keep expenses current. A cost you never recorded cannot reduce a tax bill.
- Attach receipts as you go, so that when a figure is queried the evidence is one click away.
- Reconcile payouts monthly on payouts and refunds, rather than trying to explain twelve months of bank deposits in one sitting.
- Clear the notice about unconverted transactions if you see it. It means part of your year is not in these totals.
- Check your tax registrations on expenses and tax before the year closes, not after.
Common questions
Is this a tax return? No. It is the summary of your trading that a return is built from. What you owe depends on where you are and how you are set up, which is a question for an accountant.
Why does net profit not match the money in my bank? Because profit and cash are different things. Payouts arrive on their own schedule, some money is still in transit, and collected tax is sitting in your balance without being yours. The payouts page bridges the two.
Can I see part of a year? Yes, but not here. This page is deliberately whole years. For any other window, use the date range selector on the overview.
Where do the numbers come from? Every sale, refund, fee and payout that flowed through TribeNest, plus the expenses you recorded yourself. Nothing on this page is typed in by hand except your expenses.
