Collections

Collections is a small content management system built into TribeNest. Instead of being stuck with the fixed content types the platform ships with — posts, products, events — you design your own. Want a directory of lawyers? A library of recipes? A roster of venues, a glossary of terms, a list of resources? Create a collection, choose the fields that describe each item, and start adding entries.

Every collection is yours to shape. You decide what an entry looks like — its name, a description, a photo, a price, a location on a map, a link to another entry — and TribeNest gives your visitors a clean, searchable, filterable list to explore.

When to use Collections

Reach for Collections whenever you have a set of similar things you want to publish and let people browse. A few examples:

• A directory — lawyers, therapists, tutors, or vendors, each with a name, specialty, photo, and location.
• A library — recipes, templates, guides, or downloads, each with a title, description, and file.
• A catalogue — venues, tools, books, or gear, each with structured details people can filter by.
• A glossary or knowledge base — terms and definitions, tagged and searchable.

If you also want visitors to help you build the list — submitting their own entries for you to review — Collections handles that too.

How it fits together

There are three simple pieces:

1. The collection — the container. You name it (like "Lawyers") and it holds all the entries of that type.
2. The fields — the shape of each entry. You design these: a text field for the name, a media field for the photo, a select for the specialty, and so on.
3. The entries — the actual items. Once your fields are in place, you add entries one by one, and publish the ones you're ready to show.
